How To Know You're Wearing the Right Bra Size?

Bras are part of a girl’s everyday wardrobe, so knowing your correct bra measurement is important. Lots of us are wearing the wrong size, which means we don't look or feel as good as we should! Find your perfect fit and discover the right bra size for you.

How do you actually go about measuring for your bra size? Here are some helpful tips on how to measure your bra size:

  1. With your favourite bra on, and the bra that either you feel most comfortable in, or gives you the best lift to complement your outer wear, grab yourself a measuring tape
  2. You'll need two measurements.
    1. The underbust measurement - this measures the length around your body and right under your bust. Make sure that the tape measure runs parallel to the ground and flat against your body, and isn't twisted. Take the measurement for a comfortable fit around your body.
    2. The top bust measurement - this measures around the fullest or largest part of your breasts. For some women this may be the level where the nipples are, or for some underneath, with each women it may be slightly different. But it is important that you get the fullest part of your breasts. Similar to the underbust measurement, you want to measure around your body and parallel to the ground. Take the measurement for a snug fit around your breasts.
    3. Once you have these 2 measurements, the underbust measurement will be your underband measurement - either in cm or inches! Either works and you'll be able to convert it in the size chart.
    4. And to work out your cup size, a simple rule is to do a little maths. Deduct the underbust measurement from the top bust measurement and the difference in length will help you identify your cup size. Refer to the size chart to identify your cup size.

Use the step-by-step guide below to take your bust measurements.

Step 1: Top Bust

Measure around the fullest part of the bust. Keep the tape comfortably loose.

Step 2: Under Bust

Measure firmly around the under bust. Put on your favourite bra (preferably non-padded) before measuring

Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor when measuring.

Step 3: Determine your cup size

Top bust measurement subtract your underbust

An example

Top bust measurement is 88cm and Under bust measurement is 75cm

88cm - 75cm = 13cm. Therefore, a XIXILI B cup.

If you are in between sizes, it is advisable to go for a bigger cup.
